2014 Miss Universe Australia - my backstage experience

I was so very lucky to be selected to join a team of makeup artists and hair stylists to pretty up all the lovely contestants for the Miss Universe Australia pageant this year. The team was put together by Simone Clarke, owner of Youshiki scissors + Hair and Artist HD Makeup. It was such a wonderful experience to work with a team, often as a freelancer I am on my own. The contestants were all such beautiful and lovely people. In this competition the contestants are professional models so I was very lucky to work with such gorgeous faces. The models did know what they wanted so I followed their direction and of course used my hard earned skill to pull it all together. The girls had all been tanned, we did their hair and makeup and they had gorgeous shoes jewellery and dresses, the transformation was amazing, these young women all looked so wonderful. I really loved the pink gowns the girls were wearing backstage too, I told a couple of the girls how they all looked like Victoria's Secret models. I have kept in contact with a coupe of the models and makeup artists that I worked with and thoroughly enjoy supporting their work now and for the future. It was busy, its was squishy, the room kept filling up with fog as they were testing the fog machines on the stage, but most importantly, it was a really fun experience for me.
