Do you ever feel like your makeup is causing breakouts?

Did you know that even if your skin is “clean,” your brushes are still collecting oil, dust, dead skin and other grime from products you spray around your bathroom. Dirty brushes could also be ruining your expensive products. When you swirl your dirty makeup brush into your powders, creams and gels you are transferring all the grime back into them too. Products that are moist are a perfect environment for bacteria. Also consider that when a cream product is past it’s expiry it could go off and be transferring bacteria onto your brushes. Bristles that are dried and caked with old products can become dry and brittle too, when working on the delicate skin on your face you should use good brushes and keep them in beautiful condition so they remain soft.                                                                                                                           To get a perfectly blended eye shadow you need a precise application that you cannot get from a brush that has oils and old pigments still in the bristles. When you keep your brushes clean and dry you will get exactly the colour you are after from your eye shadow. You need to wash your brushes regularly, at least fortnightly for personal use.                                             To wash your brushes take a drop of brush cleaner, soap or baby shampoo on your palm, swirl the bristles around until they are all soapy and then rinse. Do not immerse the brush head in water as it can damage the glue holding the bristles together in the ferrule of your brush. Squeeze excess water from the brush and put it back into shape then leave to dry with the hairs of your brush hanging over the edge of your bench, leaving it to dry on the towel can cause mildew. Don’t keep your brushes in a draw either as they will get dirty and out of shape, for personal use I would suggest keeping them in a cup or canister with bristles facing up.
